I Was A Christian When They Abducted Me But They Converted Me To Islam - Freed Chibok Girl Reveals

Mariam Dauda and Hauwa Joseph, who were among the 276 girls abducted by Boko Haram at Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, have every reason to thank God after they were rescued by troops under the auspices of Operation Hadin Kai. Reports have it that the ladies were rescued at Gazuwa enclave in Bama Local Government Area, Borno State.
Recounting their horrible experiences in the hands of the terrorists at a press conference that was held at the Command-and-Control Centre Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, the ladies revealed that they have been married to Boko Haram commanders and have babies for them. However, the Nigerian military killed their husband a few months ago, perhaps in a gun duel.

Mariam (formerly known as Mary) further revealed that while in captivity she used to see the late Abubakar Shekau. She added that there are still about 20 Chibok girls in the enclave of the terrorists.

Additionally, the freed Chibok girl, who was 18-years-old when she was abducted, revealed that she was a Christian but that the terrorists converted her and others to Islam.

On the other hand, Hauwa said that she had never seen the late Shekau personally but had seen him on a laptop giving instructions to his fighters.

Furthermore, officials of the Nigerian Military have pledged not to rest until they rescue the other girls still in captivity.
