FECA holds 2021/2022 Matriculation Ceremony, Warns Newly Admitted Students Against Cultism

A total of 450 fresh students at the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure were successfully matriculated into the institution on Wednesday, 18th May, 2022.The 2021/2022 Matriculation ceremony which was held at the New Lecture Theatre West end of the college was a unique opportunity to formally introduce the students to the vision of the college as a word class agricultural training institution, and provide them with rules that will guide their academic pursuit and help them stay focused.
The Provost, Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA), Dr. Akinyemi Fadiyimu in his address, welcomed the matriculating students and congratulated them on their efforts, stating that admission was offered based on merit. He admonish them to steer clear of cultism, indecent dressing, hooliganism, and other forms of social menace. 'The distance between today's ceremony and convocation ceremony is quite wide and it is important that the journey ends successfully.
For this to happen, you need to attend all lectures and practical classes regularly, complete all your assignments, shun defiant behaviours and other vices that can expose you or others to danger. The college has zero tolerance to cultism, hooliganism, crimes and corruption. All these unethical conducts which are considered inimical to normal administration of the college shall lead to disciplinary actions.'
Dr. Fadiyimu however, assured the matriculants of maximum security on campus as well as transparency in the management of the limited resources that is available for the College to improve teaching and learning facilities which will in turn bring out the best in the students to enable them stay relevant among their counterparts across board.

The Acting Registrar, Mr O. P. Owolabi administered the matriculation oath on the students with principal officers, the academic community, parents and guardian in attendance.
